Previous Events - 19 Kislev Cocktail Party, 26.11.07

On Monday 26 November many people from Perth’s Jewish community joined Chabad WA to celebrate the 19th of Kislev, also known as the "Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism”. The celebration took place at the WA Rowing Club and guests were treated to a stylish cocktail party overlooking the Swan River. It was the ideal venue to honour Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), the founder of Chabad Chassidism.

Rabbi White spoke to the crowd about how the Chabad network around the world brings Judiasm to every Jew, no matter what level of observance. He reflected on Chabad’s early days in Perth, which was followed by two Jewish songs by the talented Troy Mellet and he was accompanied on piano by Shirley Atlas. A great evening was had by all.
